Happy 6th Birthday Tyler

Tyler is 6 years old today. We can't believe how fast he is growing up!! He is almost finished with preschool, and ready for kindergarten. We all love him so much! He had a pretty good birthday. He went to school, which is always exciting on your birthday! He got cake in class. He got all kinds of cool presents, and already used his gift cards and birthday money. He bought video games, and action figures, and the Beetlejuice dvd. Thanks to Uncle Ron and Aunt Jean, Uncle Jeff and Aunt Mary, Grandma and Grandpa! Here is a picture of our big 6 year old on his birthday.
Happy Birthday to my caring, loving brother. Love, TJ

More fundraisers!!!!

Well, Both Emily and TJ have fundraisers to sell. TJ's is for Boy Scouts. He has coupons for a full service car wash from Autobell. They are $13.95. Emily has flowers and chocolate to sell for the fine arts department at Northeast. The chocolate is too expensive, but if you want to plant flowers, it is actually a good deal on the bulbs. Cheaper than Home Depot or Lowes anyway. This is, however, the FOURTH fundraiser Emily had this year. But it's for a good cause. So, if you're interested in either of those things, just let them know. Hey, maybe next year, Northeast Middle can just put Billy Mays on the payroll to sell their stuff. (Thought you would like that, dad.)

Another crazy weekend

The kids had a good weekend, but it was mostly running for us. Saturday morning was a service project for TJ for Boy Scouts. He had to be there about 9:00. By that time, I was on my 3rd load of laundry. After dropping him off, I cleaned out the garage, then had to run Emily to a birthday party at Kate's Skate. We got her there at 1:00. Twenty five minutes to get home, and then I had to turn around an hour later to go get her. I drove for 100 minutes total for her to go to a party that only lasted 120 minutes. Then TJ had an Eagle Scout ceremony to attend at 3:00. Sunday, Tyler had a birthday party to go to at Pump It Up. We got home at 1:30, and Travis went to go see his mom. He got home at 6:30, and he started grilling bratwurst. Then came a phone call. He had to leave again to meet a guy about selling his bike. When he got home, he said he lost a cap in the parking lot where he was, so off we went to go find it. We told Emily that the kids could all have the bratwurst while we were gone. When we got home, this is what we saw....Maybe he'll eat it for breakfast?

Our weekend

Science Days was Saturday. The Girl Scouts annual event pairs science tricks and experiments with Brownies for a morning of fun. Emily worked at a station that taught how to put a wooden skewer through a balloon without popping it. She also did a couple of things with candy, and taste buds. Pretty cool trick, huh?
Katie enjoyed eating her finger paint made out of cool whip.

Sunday was church in the morning, and boy was it fun for Katie and TJ. They had a party in E-Kidz for learning all of the books in the new testament. (And they did it!!)
Just in case you don't know them, they are: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, Corinthians 1, Corinthians 2, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Thessalonians 1, Thessalonians 2, Timothy 1, Timothy 2, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews, James, Peter 1, Peter 2, John 1, John 2, John 3, Jude, Revelation.
Most adults I know can't do that. They managed to teach almost all of the 1st through 5th graders in just 27 days!

Just another day

Well, taxes are finally done. 4 days, and my sanity is all it took! Katie came home from school early yesterday with a headache, and Cole has been sick for days, and now, TJ is sick too. Boy am I in for a fun day! Anyone have taxes they need done? (somewhere else of course?!) Just kidding. I'd still rather be home. Just 40 more loads of laundry to go (give or take 75). The fun never ends.

TJ's Crossover

Today TJ crossed over from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. It was a special time for the boys. It only happens once. This was also the family camping trip. The families camped in Cub World. Once the boys crossed over, they were taken from the families, and from Cub World. Gone are the days of parents cooking and working on the trips. They will now plan and execute all trips themselves. (Oh, no!) The boys are learning to be self reliant. They are learning to be good scouts. We are so proud of TJ. He showed tremendous dedication and honor to his fellow scouts, and now, they are starting this new part of their journey together. We are thankful to all of the wonderful leaders and everyone that have helped the boys get to where they are today. Here are a few pictures of the event. Coming up as a Cub Scout
